“Larkin Walk” mobile application provides a geo located sound walk experience to take the user back to the real Larkin building’s golden years. The building designed during 1902-1903 and built by the famous American architect Frank Lloyd Wright in 1904, Buffalo, New York. Since Larkin Company was not successful in its business, this led to the building’s demolition in 1950.

The audio is triggered when the user reaches the designated area of each track. The parameters of the app is limited to the empty parking lot. Each track’s topic is based on the architectural plans of the Larkin Building when it was still standing. The app has been developed ond tested in AppFurnace based on frequent site visits and a recursive work between site and the interface.

“In 1975 when I came to Buffalo and was asked to teach a course on Frank Lloyd Wright, I found it difficult to believe that a work as important as the Larkin Administration Building had been demolished.”

Quinan says about how he started to write his book- “Frank Lloyd Wright’s Larkin Building, Myth and Fact”-strangly the only book about the building at the time.
